Description:
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Airport Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of airport activities being conducted by the Star Aviation below and above wing teams. This role has a strong focus on operational, financial and safety objectives, in addition to ensuring an extremely high standard of customer and internal services is delivered and targets are achieved.
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day ground handling operation of Star Aviation at its respective port.
- Investigate delays and service failures and work with the relevant teams to resolve.
- Ensure all Ground Handling Agreements are current and reflect the contracted activities.
- Ensure staff levels are appropriate for operational requirements.
- Manage Operational Coordinators, Resource Allocators along with Duty Managers to ensure appropriate oversight of daily operations.
- Attend to Airline supplier requirements in a contractual manner ensuring both contractual obligations along with Service Delivery.
- Assisting with the calculation of budgets and cost models.
- Ensure staff and other resources are planned and utilised effectively considering schedule delivery, cost and service levels are maintained.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key airport personnel, liaising with airport operators to ensure airport facilities meets Star's requirements.
- Responsible for GSE that is used for operational purposes at theairport
- Ensure the safe and secure operation of all equipment
- Follow the reporting process for any equipment malfunction
- Lead and manage the team operationally to ensure compliancewith the contractual obligations.
- Drive a safety culture across the team.
- Manage performance issues and ensure staff are competent in their roles.
- In collaboration with Head of Ground Handling, identify any training needs.
- Schedule appropriate training sessions for training delivery and verification.
- Prepare for, conduct and document both training delivery andassessments, using approved airline training program to addresscompany’s training needs.
- Prior experience managing and leading a team
- Prior experience in above and below wing operations.
- Demonstrated achievements in managing, motivating and leading teams.
- Experience in developing and implementing business improvements and change management strategies.
- Certificate III in Aviation (Ground Operations and Service)
- A valid driver licence
- A valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Senior First Aid
- Competent in the operational requirements of Ground Handling
- Thorough understanding of the Aviation Industry
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
